I don't believe they are tank raised, but not 100% positive on that.

As for being "food grade"(?), never been asked that and not sure what you mean, but at that price I don't find them to be edible if that's what you mean?

haha, thanks for the reply. From what I understand, there are 2 types of tridacna that are exported. Aquarium grade and food grade (meant for consumption). These food grade are treated a lot rougher during export, but the suppliers get them dirt cheap, so they end up in the hobby.
