So this might be a kind of an obscure kind of topic but I need to up my post count so I'll ask anyway :a21:
A year I ago I paid $40 for a skittle sized blenny sold to me as golden sailfin. Now the little guy is about 1.5" and worth about $20 less lol.
I see liveaquaria selling these fish all the time as golden sailfins at about the same size as I bought mine, and they look exactly the same. Is there any way to know for sure whether or not these fish will stay gold or turn black?
I remember the store had a larger one at about 3" that was still golden. Is there a cut off point in terms of size that these fish are guaranteed not to start darkening?
