No socks for me. To be honest every time I've had sock holders built into a sump I'd run those mesh style socks to keep the noise down/keep them from clogging. I never stay on top of changing them and they just end up holding gunk from my skimmer. I just hope its not too loud and I don't get too much splash with no lid.
Thanks man. I had this reactor set up on my 100g. I came across it on Craigslist, picked it up from a guy in garden grove. I really like this reactor too, can't wait to get it up and running.
I'm thinking about upgrading to an AI Hydra 52 HD which would put my Hydra 26 HD out of commission..it's only a couple months old. Probably also overkill but if you're interested LMK...would force me to get my a$$ in gear for a new light, lol

Might be a little overkill. I think the space is only 10"x8" footprint and not too deep. The challenge is going to be keeping most the light in the frag area for me.
After a few large set backs with my frag tank, things are starting to turn around and get happy again. Can't wait to get all them in the house and in a larger and more stable water volume.

Thanks Mr.V That was just a brown out booger I found at Age of Aquariums a while back.
I was thinking xr15 to keep the spectrum the same as the display but was worried about having too much spread. I'd like to avoid a bunch or calcium eating coraline in the sump of possible.
You had success with the ai prime hd didn't you?

That's definitely look like rrc shazam. Nice score anyway.
Yes I used AI hd prime and that light definitely can grow sps. But my frag tank was super shallow and frags are like 1~2" under the water surface.

Thats right, I'll have to see how low my frag rack ends up in that section and go from there.
That piece is definitely growing out nice. It was just a encrusted plug when I got it. Grown very slow so far, but my tanks hasn't been the most stable.

Hey V what salt are you using now days? I've been using Fritz but am considering changing before I set up the tank. May just go back to IO but I'm not sure. Originally change from IO for a cleaner salt but this leaves residue as well. It also seems to have extremely high mag levels.

Got an email my tank was done and i was in the area so i decided to just pick it up myself. I was so worried about inspecting and securing the tank that I left without my damn external overflow! Kicking myself in the ass right now, thought I'd have it all plumbed up after work tomorrow.
I'm going back and forth between the black background and doing a frosted back pane with privacy windows. My only concern is it will be too transparent showing my overflow plumbing and cords. I'm not sure if i can double this stuff up or not?
If I do stick with black, should i removed the black where bulkheads meet the glass?
Decided to go frosted. Love the look in planted tanks so I'm going to give it a go. I got my wife to help by telling here it'll make the tank look a little smaller
