My Tank Build
#1
So I’m in the process of reconfiguring my sump drain and return lines. I like to set up as many fail safes as possible. Here’s my plan for the return and manifold. So starting at the tank and work toward the return pump. At the bulkhead I’ll have a check valve then to a ball valve. Then from the ball valve to a T one side will go to manifold and other goes to pump. Here’s where it gets tricky. I’m thinking of putting another T and one side will go to the main return (which would be a larger pump) and the other side will go to a backup return(this would be a smaller pump), and in between the T and the returns I would have another check valve. These check valves will stop the water from flowing out the off pump then the other pump is running. Both pumps will be ran off the apex. The main will run constantly and if perhaps the main fails then the back would turn on. I would do this by using the float switches that are on the ato

On the back up return I would use these codes

Set Off
If top switch closed then on
If outlet main return off then off

The code “if outlet main return off then off” would be used to make sure the backup stayed off when I’m doing maintenance or in feed mode. I wouldn’t be running both pumps at the same time but only using the backup when it’s needed

What you think, good or bad idea?
