Well this looks to be my first casualty with the new tank, Zoa frag that I have had for about a week. It struggled to open basically from day 1 and hasn’t been open in several days now

is this melting and should I pull it ASAP? All my other frags look good but I don’t want to harm the tank if it’s dying.

Placement issue maybe? Move it to lower location will see it open again. My zoas closed for weeks sometime
i had tried moving it a couple times but it refused to open for most of last week, I could see flesh coming off of it so I made an executive discussion this morning.

RIP rainbow infusion Zoa

not sure why it didn’t make it but the rest of the tank seems to be doing good so we shall see

RIP is very easy care zoa. Just place it on the sand and leave it alone. Hopefully it will come back. Zooxanthellae expelled might result from the dip.

I have a Hallucination zoa bought from member here took 3 months before it finally open. And now have fews babies

Agree with Flame_Angle. It's pretty easy too care for. Place it low and leave it alone. Moving it constantly is not good for it either. Here's my colony. Left it there from day one, few yrs back, down low never moved it.

Low and slow for zoa's
i haven’t been having much luck with that particular Zoa “rainbow infusion”, tried two different frags and both perished quickly. I soon after learned my PO4 and NO3 had bottomed out so I have been working on stabilizing that and maybe in the future I will try again. For being an “easy coral” sure are easy to take out. 🤷‍♂️
