i took a lil trip to Ontario today and while i was there i checked out two stores one of them was Jan's tropical fish witch is actually located in Montclair and the other one is called Global Aquatics... pretty nice stores have a lot of cool things to look at and not so bad on the prices either.. i really like global aquatics cause its like a big warehouse type store

Jan's is a decent place for fish. All the fish I bought from her are healthy and her tanks are fairly clean every time I'm there. Prices for fish are reasonable, but dry goods are overpriced. She doesn't really have much if any coral. Global aquatics on the other hand is really overpriced in both aspects. Not sure how healthy their live stock is though. Coral-wise, they carry common stuff and overpriced.

Ive been to both stores a few times. At Global aquatics i never saw a healthy fish worth buying, and their corals and drygoods are way overpriced. At Jans i usually just bought water before i started mixing my own, ive bought about 6 fish from them only 2 survived. Jans is a little better than global but still not my favorite local store. I go to tropical reef fish store in rancho now.

I live down the street from global and have shopped at both places multiple times. Like Gboy66, qt is recommended. Jans has a lot of cool stuff, including stuff that doesn't survive very long in most tanks, like feather stars. If your buying there look closely at what your buying, mandarins are usually always starving for example. Prices arnt the greatest but the selection is better then most LFS. Global in my opinion isn't that great. They usually have more fish because its a warehouse/wholesale looking place, but they seam more interested in making money than the health of their fish. I've seen them feed goldfish to saltwater fish, which isn't ideal in my opinion. Coral prices are insane too for the common, usually unhealthy pieces they have. The owner isn't very helpful either if he doesn't like how you look. The big Hispanic guy is usually nice but doesn't know a whole lot about saltwater. I usually drive down to mystic reef in riverside for fish and coral. Selection is limited but fish are healthy and frags are cheap. Montclair fish and pets down the street from jans use to be good to until they got a bad case of ick in their system that they haven't fixed, coral prices are decent to for the common big pieces they sale.

Hope this helps

Over and over throughout the years I would say Global Aquatics has the best potential in being the best LFS in the IE but their prices are redicously overpriced. $45 for a small Yellow Tang that Jan's is selling for $29.00. Global has a wholesale feel and look minus the wholesale pricing. I had better luck at Jan's instead. Pricing for Angels are a tad higher than other LFS (except Global) but other fish prices are below average. Coral pricing are average but mostly LPS and softies. Watch out for dyed corals and anemones though as the bring them in from time to time.

The cheapest LFS is Bell Bird Farm in the City of Bell. Its a hit and miss but you have to go weekly. Too bad they are so far from me.
Today I bought
Med Indo Regal Angel $39
Slighty bleached Green Carpet Haddoni anemone. $12.99
Typical Sebae Anemone and slightly bleached 5" :$5.99
They had Clarki clowns for $5.99
Some fish/coral prices are normal there but some are crazy low . Last year I got an Asfur there for $49.00.
No SPS, and beginner type LPS/Softies.

Those were retail price. Paid cash and bargained a little and got a better pricing than the above.

No I haven't got anything. Never really found what I'm looking for at the time. Can't comment...but Demonkegman can...he's practically the co-owner.
I am the co-owner practically!!!! lmao, I literally live a block away, by the hospital you passed to get there most likely. Jan's is good on fish prices. Global is all right on coral prices.. Neither have amazingly good coral but Jan's is better in the coral department. but pricy.

(jesuses) where in riverside? do u happen to have the address for it?
It should be 6101 camino real, riverside, ca 92509. Know what you want before hand and know how much things cost because they don't post prices and Jeremy is a hustler. Lowball him on everything and see if he takes it lol. It's fun

An older member on here is really working hard with global to change it around. (REALLY good reefer!) I wont say just in case he/she trying to be low key... But anyways, they set up a new display tank and are helping upgrade the frag tanks and coral selection... and SLOWLY making it look better in there. Global has ALL the potential to be the best store in IE, will all due respect to all other store of course!!!!! They are just extremely stubborn about prices because they are so known and on the internet, that they have people playing those prices....
