Yes, but might need extra support I heard. Why not have someone build u a steel one? Safer option I believe.

Working on building a stand for a 300 gallon. 2x4's OK to use?
depends on the spacing, and the span. is it 30, 32, 34, or 36" deep? I would not go more than 16" o.c. if it's greater than 30" deep.

I would also suggest using 2x6s for the perimeter framing if you can manage it on clearance.

Footprint of the tank is 96"x24" with dual corner overflows.

I'll probably end up using 2x6 for the ends and 2x4 for middle support

2x4's are more than plenty, especially if you're skinning it with plywood. Proper design matters much more than the dimensions of the timber used. Compressive strength of a single 2x4 in the short dimensions used on our tanks is ridiculous, >10 kips.

With the tank have dual corner overflow boxes, any suggestions on building the stand frame and allowing spacing to adjust bulkheads? I've built stands before but maybe I'm being nervous building one for a 300 gallon.

You think it would be ok if the outside frame is larger and overlaps the footprint of the tank? I'll place plywood for the tank to sit on, so that should evenly distribute the weight? I'll be adding additional support beams spaced evenly along the perimeter. Or you think the corner post must be exactly below the corner footprint of the tank.

Here's mine. Only a 180 but you can see I over built the hell out if it. Also, my stand is larger then the tank.
