Hey Mark, Whats your secret to keeping chalices. You obviously have it figured out. What lights do you have, and how much light do you give them. Do you feed them ? Awesome chalices :)

I have no secret unfortunately. At the bottom of the picture is a Jared's Watermelon (I think that is the correct name) and it is slowly giving up some tissue. It is very near the bottom and it may just be too shaded. So I am far from perfect at this. The only thing I do is if a chalice is receding I move it to a very different spot in the tank and hope the conditions make it happy. Sometimes though, the more you move it, the less happy it gets.

I use MH and T5s and I don't feed any of the coral. Just fish food for the fish, and fish poo to the corals.

I have a geissman unit, its great. ATI is great as well. The downside to MH is heat, hot is all get out and you will need a chiller

I use the Pacific Sun Pandora S3, T5/LED. Really happy with it.
T5/LED seem to be the most popular light combination today. I have not tried it except in my frag tank. I have an ATI 6 bulb T5 and I added a reefbrite xho blue but my frag tank so far pales or browns everything out which I believe is because my frag tank is a standalone 10 gallon tank and I have not figured out how to make it happy.

I don't have a build thread, I don't have a for sale thread. All I do is take pictures. Best i can do, though

Took some pictures this morning with only t5's on (I have 3 x blue plus and 1 x purple something or maybe pink something--I don't rememberer that bulb but it glows pinkish purple)

I am in enamored with the space invader so I thought I would bore you with some different pics:

I fragged it in January and here is a picture from then so you can see the very cool recovery and growth with todays pictures.

The next three are from today:

And of course while doing maintenance, I broke off a piece of miami hurricane chalice, here it is sitting on a tank cross brace

You guys all know that I never complain. Just not part of my personality. But, man o man, Schnitz posts pics of his skim mate from his protein skimmer and like a dozen comments.

Just ordered some blue LED actinics so I can now make my pictures all blue, maybe that will work to get some response.

In the meantime, last picture from this morning. My first symphillia (I think the spelling is correct). Again, it was taken with t5 only so this is as blue as I can make them.

And for any of you that have been looking at my pics, thank you.

Mark, your corals are amazing. I think people are speechless when they see your collection. You got a fan here. Dont blue up your wonderful pictures either. Keep up the excellent reefing!
