Hey everyone!

So back in May I had so many problems with my tank. I'm sure some of you saw. Alkalinity swing that killed half of my sps and a AEFW problem in which I chose to toss most of what was left. I had a dosing problem too but that didn't really do anything.

I had moved all my sps into my 180g at work. A lot of corals were encrusted so I moved rocks and all. I then broke the sps off the rocks, dipped them all and placed them in qt with multiple dippings for a month. I never saw any flatworms at all but I found a few pieces with eggs. I inspected and tossed anything that had eggs or even bit marks. I didn't want to take a chance.

Here is a picture of my dead sps. This bag is huge. Half is from my alk swing and the other half is what I tossed. Again I didn't take any chances with the AEFW. I am happy to report I have not seen any eggs or signs for months.

After that I reaquascaped my tank but since I removed so many rocks I thought I would add more. I bought a couple live rock pieces and some sps frags from someone a few days later. I dipped all the sps I had bought.

Since then I started noticing some blue/red cloves. I kept meaning to do something about it but since I wasn't really doing anything to my tank I didn't bother to remove it. Now I have a huge clove problem. It's been a pain as I cannot add new sps because the glue won't stick to the cloves and I cannot see any bare rock. In this picture you can see a sps free area that is completely covered in cloves.

So now the fun begins. Before I buy more sps as I save for reef-a-palooza. I want to get rid of this clove problem.

A fellow reefer gave me some fluke tabs. I won't say who as you guys would start harassing him for the tabs lol. The plan is to nuke them before I have anything else to lose besides my clams.

My clams and my powder blue is probably the only thing I care about right now so it's a perfect time.

I didn't want to treat the tank with the clams in it so I removed the clams into a brand new qt. I didn't want to use the old qt tank as I don't know what kind of residues are still in it from many medications. I won't be treating the clams just storing them separately. Today I have removed my clams and placed them in a 20g tank. There are 7 clams all together. 3 are huge. Look closely for comparison between the large clam and the smallest clam which is 1.5-2 inches.

I use this thing called mojano zapper to kill anything I don't like on my rocks.. for example, Mojanos, aptasia, zoas, xenia, cloves.. you name it melts it right away!

I have removed my biopellets as I will disable my skimmer. I have removed my carbon and a purple lobster as he would probably die. coincidentally the last peppermint shrimp was found dead this morning so that solves that problem. I thinking of what else I should remove before I start the dose

I'll look it up but these cloves have covered everything now. The last straw was when I found them in the sand bed.

Good to go then. Make sure do a water change after 3 or 4 days. And do another one a few days later. Youll see the cloves start to melt and not come out of their mat. It will take a few days doesnt happen right away.

Yea I started a thread but no takers so far. Maybe everyone is out of town. I don't want to put him with my clams. Don't want him trying to attack them.
