I'd start feeding more. You don't want your numbers at 0. With pellets you can feed more and it will help with the coral not starving.

I was having similar problems with my tank about 5 months ago Raymond...corals weren't really dying but things just weren't on point in my tank. That's when I went back to basics and got rid of the gfo and the bp and now just do water changes and dose 2part and my tank is doing great finally. Not saying that everyone should ditch their bp and gfo, but it's a suggestion that if all else fails, go back to the fundamentals of the hobby. Good luck and I hope your issues get resolved.

BTW, I removed the bp, gfo, ac and ls all within a matter of like a couple of days and there were no issues as a result of that.
Thanks Jesse.

I was feeding more Chris, and I had lots of algae in my fuge. My sps we're turning brown, so I began feeding a lot less. I was on a two week trip, and from the looks of it, in that amount of time the rx stripped the tank.

Any updates on this beast??!!????
Not any major updates bud, my tank was going downhill real fast and I couldn't figure out why. Once I removed my biopellet rx, things calmed down. The corals that I didn't kill turned brown, and some are starting to color up again. My rbta which was dying and was completely transparent, morphed and is now greenish with orange tips. I still can't get my nitrates up, but oh well!!!

Hi guys, it's been about 9 months since I installed my T5 bulbs. I ran them for 3 hrs the first few months, and over the next few months I've ramped them up to 6 hrs. Are my bulbs still good? And secondly! Which combo should I do? Currently I'm doing front to back,
B+
P+
AI VEGA
B+
C+
Would all B+ be too blue?

Hey Raymond. I hope you're doing well. I think you still have a few months life in your bulbs....I replace mine once a year and run them 6-8hrs a day and have never had any issues. As for all 6 bulbs B+? 4 out of 6 of mine are B+ and my tank has bluer look to it...kind of a 16-20k look. I think going all B+ would look like Schnitzelvison 24/7. Maybe go 4 B+. I have (4) B+ (1) C+ (1)P+... it's a personal thing but I think (6) B+ would be way to blue. Keep us posted on what you end up doing.

Hi Rob, good hearing from you. Thanks for the input. I actually have 8 bulbs, four 54w on each side. Here's a pic. What would you recommend? Thanks again Rob. 😃

Nice... id like to add LEDs at some point. Yes I'd change out all 8 bulbs at once... easier to keep track of the age of the bulbs and when to replace in a year.

I noticed I've got this algae in my fuge, resembles HA! Is it ok, being it's in my refugium? I have some in my DT, but nothing bad, just a little fuzz here and there, which my tangs nibble on. I have been running GFO, but only in a filter bag. No GAC!!! I was feeding quite a bit to both fish and corals. Should I be concerned? Let it be? TIA!!! Me personally, i like to keep the fuge clean and looking nice...some people say its suppose to grow algae down there but i just feel if i let the nasty algae grow, it just looks unsightly. Hope that makes sense.

It does, but wouldn't having some algae down in the fuge help compete with nutrients in the DT?

thats what i mean, it could be viewed as a good thing but if you already have chaeto or other nicer looking algaes in the fuge, why have this nasty stuff take over your fuge if it grows at a faster pace than your other algaes in the fuge. I think its a personal preference sorta thing...so your call on keeping or removing. I like my fuges like i like my women...with a pretty, trimmed, clean fuge downstairs...lmao
