Few months ago I had a 500g tank then it cracked because a metal halide fell and heated my glass for God know how long and it cracked. I was working for two days straight so idk when it happened.

Then today I get home to my 100g almost empty just finished cleaning all the water. Shop vac came handy poor fishes would of died I transferred everything lost most my corals. Fortunately I was acclimating the Sps I got yesterday and a few other corals so saved a couple. I transferred everything to my 50g. I am very down right now. How do people deal with all the disappointments like this? Good time to check all your tanks. Now it's time to rebuild

No my apartment is solid concrete then it's carpet and I clean all the water with ShopVac and dried it with a carpet cleaner and I am using fans and heaters. But I doubt any harm was done. Manager actually came over to help she really loved to see my tanks and she wasn't mad. She was more worried about the tank.
I am amazed that the water reached all the way to the hall ways and stuff.

That's a bummer man. Sounds like you had a sketchy lighting mounting system on the first tank and a sketchy stand on the second one. If something CAN go wrong, it WILL go wrong.
Yeah next build will be done right.

I dont know how anybody continues on from something like that. It takes alot of fortitude and love for the hobby to move foward.
Sorry hear about your misfortune. I hope everything turns awesome on your next tank

This hobby can be a great pleasure..and it can really suck at times. We have all had our fair share of crashes..you got it a little worse than most I think though...just gotta dust it off and keep going when your ready...$#it happens...prevention is key..The smartest ones on here have a camera on their setup and other precautions..I should too..you just never know what could go wrong...

In the greater scheme of things, we as marine hobbyists are attempting to contain/maintain a micro-ecosystem within the confirnes of a glass toilet in our living room. There is nothing normal nor mainstream about it (a trait I suspect is the most attractive attribute in the first place) not to mention fraught with infinite maladies that can occur at any give time. Nonetheless, the beauty of a healthy reeftank far outweighs these dangers; this is why we are hobbyists. When setbacks occur, we fix, stabalize, and rebuild...its what we do.
Do not think of this as a tragedy but as a learning experience. Exploit all lessons.
You will persevere and emerge all the better from it all.
