My nitrates where up to 20ppm so I started dosing 15ml of NO3-PO4-X to my 120g tank every day for 1 week, then tested and noticed that I needed to up the dose by 5ml, so 20ml every day for the next week and walla! Nitrates are undetectable, I love this product. It is a safe way to carbon dosing! Here's a pic

I have recently started using this product as well and shared the same amazing experience. In fact, it went from 20ppm to 5ppm over one night. I was afraid that it had other negative effects so I checked everything. Nothing else changed and I haven't heard any negative comments from anybody.

You guys are going too fast. NOPOX dosing is indeed carbon dosing, and needs to be treated as such, the product itself is ethanol (vodka) and acetic acid (vinegar) in a 6:1 ratio. Read up on liquid carbon dosing, namely vodka dosing, and you will see a very gradual increase in the dosing schedule, like this:

Good things in a reef do not happen fast!

That's what I also thought, and mine is just fish only. If it's unbelievable then it's most likely not true, but I followed instruction and did the right dosage. I just thought maybe the API nitrate testing kit wasn't entirely accurate.

The api isn't reliable under 10ppm. Use the red sea nitrate kit to ensure you aren't overdosing. It's a high sensitive test kit

I've also suspected that. So I've since gone with the daily dosage for 0 to 2.5ppm nitrate.

I agree, but knocking down nitrate levels from 20ppm to 0ppm in 2 weeks is not to fast, ask my corals all looking great.

I agree here also, but either way it went down 20ppm whether or not it is showing the correct ppm.

Have u tried dosing vinegar? Probably a lot cheaper.
never tried vinegar dosing, have you? if so explain please

I had thought about doing that. But one big bottle of this costs less than $20. I don't want to take the risk in creating my own mixture, despite the fact that it sounds pretty straight forward.

Jesse, they are saying this RedSea product is basically just vodka plus vinegar dosing.

So does the RedSea product not do anything more than what straight-up vinegar can do? And is that what you are using to keep nitrate in check?

yes i know, but how to much to dose? and I heard that Vodka/Vinegar dosing also takes away good nutrients, and that NO3PO4X is a safer way to go, and I have heard of Vodka over dosing horror stories.

Jesse, I would encourage you to read up on nopox dosing rather than trusting whoever you heard that it was "safer" from. You can't dose nopox all willy nilly and expect it to work out. You need to follow the directions and use a "real" test kit (not API).

LOL seriously of course I did my research before I do anything, 30+ day research, I use API test only for nitrate, Hanna and red Sea, and Salifert for everything else. Been using API nitrate for 8 years and its been fine.
Here's a video I saw

Hey nick. A few years back I tried no pox it's some sic s***. It works better then straight vodka dosing. I've done both. No pox is made of methanol. It literally eliminated gha in a week after months of vsv and vodka dosing couldn't put a dent in the gha. I used it religiously on my 150 that I had that foam wall in. The foam was leaching phosphates and the area behind the wall was a nitrate factory. Nopox was the only thing that helped. I even tried pellets on that tank.
All so mike SmallTime was addicted on using nopox. He even had his own little concoction he made with nopox and Lanthanum chloride that he dosed like 6ml per day.
