I've been before... its a good time. I won't have the vacation time to do it this year. Its about 100 bucks to get in, not to mention flight, hotel, etc. which will add up really fast. You'll find just as many vendors and livestock at RAP in October so I would save your money and do that instead. ;)

I'm definitely going. I went last year's in Denver for the first time and I thought it was fantastic. It was definitely worth the trip and expense. You can book your hotel through their website for a discounted rate.

I was at my first in Denver. I thought it was great, but I was with buddies who had been to the past 5 and they were disappointed compared to past shows. (smaller & limited raffle selection) But being my first with nothing to compare it to, I had a great time.

Sitting out this year, but will hit it next year.

Well i was disappointed on max this yrs so if its like that just no point on going
It's definitely different than any local show. More manufacturers there (and big names), lots of dry goods, and a nice selection of livestock. Big name speakers too.

For anyone going, if you are interested in doing a Whitehouse tour you should get started on the request now.

Just throwing that out there...

100 bucks to get in..? LOL... no thx... for a marine show... what can the speakers possibly say that wasn't published on the internet already...?

i've paid 50 bucks to get into SDCC, but at least there were panels and shows months before they get released... also real rare collectibles and things to see... but a bill to get into a marine conference that has the almost the same vendors as the shows we get..? LOL... that's funny...

but then again you can't compare a cheap comic book convention to any reef expo... comic expo > a bunch of other shows...

Curious how the show in Florida hurts a show in CA as far as turnout?

hehe I'm not sure what you are trying to compare...

apples and oranges. apples are red, oranges are.............. so if east coast rap is one week after or before macna, who is going to go where? if you have to travel, which one will you go to? Duh, RAP because you are on the SCMAS committee.

CA and Florida have the most hobbyists... so I wasn't considering any out of state travelers although people do come from out of state. I was solely basing it on the number of hobbyists in those particular areas. And MACNA is on Labor Day weekend.
