I believe i sold a tank to this kid. He was definitely impulsive (a plus for me), i drove the tank out to him, he was a bit late meeting me at his apartment, and then he wanted me to set the tank up for him. No confidence in his ability to plumb it. I was patient with him, just figured he was as a newbie. And he was collecting equipment already. Oh well, bridges burned.

Wait guys what does he look like? I just had a guy flip on me once from Craigslist then yesterday a guy flipped on me mid drive. I looked closer to the pictures from the ad and found the stuff i bought the day before. Wondering if it's this Andrew? This guy was big tall, has kids, wife... Lives in long beach. Same guy?

What do you mean flipped on you once from craigslist then flipped on you mid drive?
Saturday I purchased some stuff from this guy on Craigslist. His price was awesome. But on my way there, he said, it's $$ ($20 higher) or don't bother coming. My response was... Oook. So we went. There were several red flags during the transaction but I disregarded it. Anyhow, left and he was trying to up-sale me with his 96" stand because he knew I was looking for a stand. I said I'd think about it. We decided the experience was horrible so no going back. Well the next day , woke up scanning craigslist and found another good deal. Stand for $30. Replies immediately and when I got the area he lived in and that he was avail now, I hopped in the car and started driving out to Longbeach (again) . 15 min into the car ride, I get a text saying $60 for the stand or don't bother coming. Ummmm. That sounds familiar. So I looked at the pictures from his ad again and there in the picture were the items I bought the day before! It was that same guy. And to confirm that, after 5 emails requesting his address, he gives it to me and it's the same address as the day before. I was furious!!! Anyhow I replied back saying no thanks!

Extremely similar behavior, as andrewanaheim will immediately call you and refuse to text. But he's in Anaheim, off state college near Anaheim stadium.

At least we see a pattern; he doesn't text, has bad English, and randomly tries to raise the price.

What is this like some kind of gang that focuses on ripping off reefers? We better hope Shrimp Boy doesn't get involved in this. :)

You know whats the worst? People with so few post counts selling a whole bunch of dry goods its very shady, furthermore id like to see the tanks that all these goods are coming from. I find it very peculiar that there are 1 or 2 people on the forum right now selling a whole mess of dry goods. Very andrewanahiem like.

Agreed!

I wish this site would be more strict about their selling policy. Make it like RC, 50 posts and 90 days...

Yea! Something in regards to actually contributing. There are guys with 100 posts but they are all crap. They Are selling 15 diff things! It's obvious, we don't need that here.

When I joined on, it didn't even cross my mind that a could sell here. One Day it hit me and I just sold some things laying around. Lol I wasn't aware of any rules InTerms of post counts or anything of the sort.

If we take s hardline on flippers raise post counts and months before sales are permitted we can flush out the Andrews of the world.

I may get flamed for this, but personally I don't see a problem with flipping per se. If someone sells at a price they feel comfortable with getting, and another down the line makes a few bucks and that buyer is OK with the price, I don't see any harm in that. Its the shady deals, lack of communication, changing the price mid drive, etc is what I have a problem with. Those are just bad sellers and I wouldn't want to do business with them.

But I agree that the post count should be raised to avoid people coming here to strictly sell and not contribute ideas or reef related knowledge that helps the community and our hobby.
