If it's doesn't fit in your stand its big :)
I never really liked the look of ato containers next to a nice tank but people do it all the time and obviously are ok with it.

thinking of switch mine back to this setup too. i am tired of doing weekly fill up on a 5g container.
Yea, I love it! No more carrying stupid containers into the house. I use an avast marine peristaltic pump to pump it into the house through the attic. The pump is a little slow but great for an ato.

I like the sound of that! How far of a run is that?

Let's see if I can explain this... The other side of the wall from my tank is the front door/porch then the other side of that is the garage. So from the tank in the garage is goes up about 4 feet, then across the wall about 6 feet, then through the attic about 3 feet then down about 9 feet then across to where it goes in the sump about 4 feet. It all looks pretty neat though. I actually have 5 tubes going from the garage to the tank.
1. ato
2. alkalinity dosing
3. calcium dosing
4. old sea water
5. new sea water

Nice. I'd like to do the same but my head pressure would be closer to 8' and my tank is no where near the garage. About 75-90' away. Not sure if that pump could push the water that high.

The avast pump could probably handle it. I would email them and ask
"Our pump is capable of delivering water at up to 20 feet of head pressure. That's several stories up or down, and hundreds of feet horizontally. No need to have your top-off reservoir under your tank. You can keep it out in the garage on the other side of the house!"

Hopefully itll work for you! I was in the same situation. I was working on designing my sump with AA and was going to get custom dosing containers and an ato reservoir made to match. Then I found this pump and said screw the reservoir ill just pump from the garage! Was able to make my sump bigger and no more carrying water!

Are you using the avast pumps for auto water changes as well?
