What a terrible way to wake up in the morning! When the lights kicked on to my bedside cube I did what everyone in this hobby does, fish count. Then I noticed I didn't see my awesome jawfish that swam around everywhere and ate everything. When i got up to look into it, I noticed a rip in the corner of my screen top. The @$&king cat ripped open the top and most likely ate the jaw because he is not on the ground anywhere. I have never been so upset about a fish then I am right now! Ok my vents over, I am just very bent out of shape by this... I want to dunk the cat fully under the tanks water so she leaves them alone, but I think I will cool off and collect my thoughts instead...

If its any consolation, after I acclimated my blue spot jawfish and put him in the dt, he was never to be seen again. Pretty sure he jumped and the cat ate him as soon as I tossed him in.

You didn't have a top? Not that it really matters with cats apparently! :/

The top was off for a couple minutes while i was putting in the new fish. I literally threw the fella in, lost him in a sand storm, and then I assume he jumped while I was putting the other fish in. I think he jumped and the cat ate him while I was distracted. never saw heard or smelled anything just tisssed him in and poof he was never to be seen again. Lol

Wow sorry for the lost I'm not a big fan of cats. That's why dogs are better
YES. I live with a cat person. :(

My boyfriend's 13 pound longhair beast cat went halfway into the tank one day when the screen was off. Heard a ker-PLUNKSSSHHH (it seriously sounded like when someone cannonballs into a pool) from the living room and my kid yelled. I ran in and the cat was gone but had splashed water all over the living room - I found dried salt on my TV a couple weeks later, 15' from the tank and 6' off the ground. She clawed a bunch of GSP off the overflow on her way out. She hasn't gone back up there but her demon sister is up there all the time even though her butt and tail went in once.

I love cats... yeah.

I second the submerging of the cat. Head first just dunk em for a quick second. Doubt he'll ever do it again
