Makes sense you're going bare bottom. It would be tough to fill that tank with sand without compromising the entire concept of reef drop off.

I hope you're just putting sand on the bottom and not the top...there's not break on the top to stop the sand from spilling over or blown down to the bottom

all the sand will eventually end up on the deep side of the tank.... i would just keep it barebottom... the black bottom is nice and sleek... it will look bad once filled and no sand...

I picked up some barnacles from reef cleaners. They come glued together, but I like them cut apart. Might be good idea for your tank.
