Don't use that veggie clip if you want a rusty magnet in your tank LOL

I especially liked the chemipure samples that were only good for 5 gallons LOL

Don't feel bad. I dropped $400 on the raffle all three days, and all I won was a Tunze Submersible LED light and some phytoplankton.

The raffles were the weakest ever of any MACNA I've ever been to.

400!?!? **** okay I dont feel bad at all wasting 20 bucks. Most of the club member went home with something at least.

a ton of giveaways... my son even got involved... got a hat and started collecting pins... got like 27 pins or something... they had a special "pin" raffle that if you get 25 pins, you put your name and number on a special raffle, but i don't think they did it... i didn't hear anything about it... sucks... whatever... i won't go to macna again if it ever comes back... or out of state... i knew what it was going to be like, and i was right... i tried to lowball for a small skimmer and even though everyone supposedly didn't want to take anything back, didn't want to knock off 40 bucks off retail... only thing i got was a smaller return pump for my tank 70% off retail... but a 300gph pump, i was doing him a favor of just taking it... LOL...

ouch. so i guess east coast and west coast macna is different.
I'm not sure what that means LOL

MACNAS are overseen by MASNA, but are run and organized by the local club of that area. At least that is how it has happened. But its not all on the local club, the various companies exhibiting at the show play a big role in what is donated. That also holds true for the giveaways at the booths, grab bags, etc.

And before anyone reading this goes wacky, I always enjoy all the shows and always find people or things that I enjoy at every one of them. Its just the raffle was disappointing this year.

I think they dont want to take anything large back but anything portable like lights and skimmers they always take back and dont give much discount on. I got the RSR170 for 400 bucks. So I had a good fun experience. I wouldn't travel outta state for MACNA tho.

The apex morning meet was the best of all IMO. They gave a ton of stuff away and a nice breakfast too!
