I agree to purchase the Sherman rose from him at $225 the week before Labor Day. I suppose to pick it up from him on 8/31 at night time. He called me during the day and told me he has to travel for work and will not be back until Labor Day. I told him ok cool just text me when you back in town.

On Labor Day I texted him to see if he was back in town. He called me later and told me he will be back late. I told him cool will schedule for 9/6 pickup at night. I texted him on 9/6 that I'm heading down his place. When I got there he told me the Sherman moved under the rock way at the bottom of the tank. When I got inside his house he already removed the anemone and had it in a contain. He show me the anemone while it was in the container under his light. I was like ok cool. Stay there chat with him for about 20 min about his coral and fish in his tank.

I got home and start to acclimated it to my tank water. I notice that the anemone was showing white gut coming from it mouth and that it look like the anemone was either cut or split by itself. I took a picture and texted him to asked if he cut the anemone. He called me right away and told me no. I told him it look cut and he keep telling me no so I told him I will let it settle in and check tomorrow night.

Next morning the anemone look really bad. I took a picture and texted him to give him an updated. When I got home the anemone look fine. I texted him a picture of it and told him maybe the anemone split itself when it was in his tank. He told me maybe it did and that he doesn't see the other half of the anemone in his tank. I told him that of we both agree that the anemone split and I told him that I didn't agree to buy a split anemone and that I want to return the anemone for a refund. He told me the doesn't offer guaranty on his livestock.

Sorry for the long write up.

Here are some photo you guy can be the judge.

Judging by the stringy stuff coming out of the side that lacks tentacles on the nem you got, I would say you got scammed! He must have cut the nem only a few days prior to your pickup. Cut nems usually heal up within days of being cut, and this looks like a fresh cut.

It's a shame how a fellow hobbyist would try to make a profit like this. I think the seller should step up and refund you your money and you give him back his CUT NEM.

You either got a cut nem from him, or he didn't know the nem had split. Either case, it is wrong for the seller to leave you hanging since this is not what he showed in the original picture. "i don't offer guarantees on livestock" is total BS because the guy is not a store, he's a hobbyist and he is bound by common decency.

Look on the bright side. You just helped a bunch of us from being scammed by the same person. Good job! Good Karma to you.

Looks like foot is damaged. Possibly torn from being removed from the rock. It's very tricky to removed them from rocks once their foot is anchored. If you tear that foot, the nem is more than likely doomed.

So if it split tho, shouldn't you get the other one too. If you agreed to buy the whole thing, you aren't really getting the whole thing because now "if" it split it's smaller.

I thought the same thing, last time I tried to remove my nems from rocks took me more than an hour. You have to do it so slowly. It could have been pulled too hard and the other piece might still be there.

Well, if it split, then he should give you the other half of the anemone. It's not his fault it split. If it's cut, then it's another story.

Haha yeah if you can thats better less stress on the nem. But its like removing a very thin sticker cant do it too fast or you will rip it.

Sorry to hear Jimmy. Hopefully it will all work out. I've met him before, I doubt you got scammed... looks more like it got damaged when he pulled it out of the tank. Honest mistake maybe but I don't agree with his no refunds comment. I'd be pissed. Hopefully he makes it right before the SCR pitchforks come out.
