Kinda, its like saying a RASTA is just a zoa. Sherman's are unique in that they are all bright red with a dark base. i hardly ever see them, had a few before and they are usually indo or christmas island but these grow a lot bigger than a regular rose nem. But people call regular rose shermans to sell for big bucks. That's why I call em "Shermanish rose" lol

What is this lineage you speak of?? But to answer your question. I do have one that is an actual Sherman and next to these they look the same...

He got them from me. I got them from a friend that told me they were just rose nems. As far as lineage or whatever I have no clue and I don't think my friend does either. All I can tell you is that I've had them for about 8 years now. Originally started out as one then they just kept multiplying. Prior to selling that rock I gave away at least 5 more. Only thing I can say is that my clowns hosted the rose much easier than any other nem I've ever owned.

There you go! Actually this one stings worse than my other rose lol I get rashes haha but they sure are pretty, mine haven't multiply yet some have actually moved :/
