This is hard to say. It depends entirely on the depth of your tank and the type of corals that you have.
Best advice would be to start higher around 12" and work your way down. Better yet...borrow a PAR meter and adjust accordingly.

I run my Radion for 13 hours total. Only 7 hrs of that is peak though. I have 6 hours of just Dawn and dusk effects.

how old is the Reefer 170, and does it come with every little thing as if brand new? Any scratches?
Also, any reason you put a check valve in the return line?
IMHO a single Radion XR15 is good for no more than a ln 18x18 area. If you want good coverage you need a xr30 every 24" of tank

I'm interested in coming and checking this out. I live in Burbank, but will be moving to Altadena at the end of this month (bought a house :biggrin1:). Anyone up here by me?
For a tank that size get the xr30 if you really want LEDs. I had the xr15w pro over my tank 24x16x16 and the coverage was terrible. Too much shading for my sps. They began to brown at their undersides. I gave up after 9 months and switched to t5. Couldn't be happier!
That is awesome. My new build also shares a wall with the garage. If you wouldn't mind, I would love to see those pics. Sorry for taking your thread off topic.
Best to start higher like around 8" and monitor your corals. If they begin to turn brown, just lower the light an inch or so. It's always better to brown out some corals due to lack of light than it is to bleach them because of too much!
Just an FYI. My tank is only 16" tall and my ATI...
Hoping to find some info as to where I could order a custom starfire aquarium, with a custom overflox box. I am located in LA County. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
It looks like the plumbing is running through the wall? Is your sump in another room? If so, this is exactly what I was planning on doing with my next build. Could you please share some pics of how you did it? Thanks!
