thank you everyone for your feed back and comments. Reefcube29: I am using an Atman PH3000 for my return (rated 940gph), however it's closer to roughly 700/750 with the checkvalve, 2 45 elbows and Tee before the LocLines.

Just bought a used 50g cube complete reef ready w/drilled drain/return internal overflow... In the process of replacing current bulkheads and making a Durso drain...in the process, I noticed that the overflow consists of an inner glass box, then the black (what I believe is acrylic) overflow box...

thanks for the input, will look into that skimmer. Is there an obvious difference in the water quality?
