LOUD Filter sock compartment advise needed!

I would definitely take off the silencer (filter sock top cover with a bunch of holes in it) if you have one. They take forever to clean and is no longer needed if you try using this method.

LOUD Filter sock compartment advise needed!

For those who have sump with the same design but with bigger/wider filter socks and are trying to reduce water noise coming from the sock compartment. Try this. Get a few of these small buckets from Home Depot. Drill a bunch of holes on the bottom and a layer on the sides, this way the water has...

LOUD Filter sock compartment advise needed!

The best way I found to eliminate noise coming from the filter sock compartment is to get some mesh filter socks then tie a knot at the tip end of the sock, this way you make the sock shorter. Then get a hand full of filter floss and put in bottom of the sock. It should be 100% silent at this...

    Extra Large Mono Pair rehome

Tank raised, healthy, and thick. I've had them for about 1.5 year, eats frozen mysis shrimp and flake mixed. Looking for a new home preferably a 100 gallon or more. I just caught them last night as they were sleeping, LOL. I taped a quarter in the back of the clear container for reference. The...

    Waterbox Ex 90.3 Build

Look at the smirk on David, LOL:) I was wondering how everything was going, thanks for the update. Glad you hung in there, however, damn you dropped some serious dough on that new tank of yours, heck yeah! Really bummed out to hear about the fish (you lost a lot of nice fishes) and corals...

Any tips on getting anemone to split?

The first thing I would try to focus on is to provide the most comfortable environment possible for your CSB. I know what I just stated is the obvious, lol, as we all strive to create this kind of environment for all reef tanks, however, I also understand that this is easier said than done. I...

I'll have to give them both a try. Thanks so much for the tip, as always!

Okay to mix ROWA Phos and carbon together in the same mesh bag?

I was going to try BRS premium ROX to see how it does. I'm just shooting from the hips. It has a high rating with a high number of reviews but I don't trust product reviews nowadays haha with all the bots and AI stuff. But I will give Kolar labs a try first. Thank you! I appreciate it,

Okay to mix ROWA Phos and carbon together in the same mesh bag?

True, I heard from someone on youtube saying that the carbon that is shaped in pellets releases phosphate. He also said the carbons that releases a lot of black dust into the water when being rinsed is a sign of inferior quality carbon. It's funny because the carbon I use is in pellet shape and...

Corals Farmer Market is today 2/23/25

CFM used to be a really really good show when it was at the Double Tree, however, the last 1 or 2 years has not been that great. It hasn't been that great ever since the new Anaheim venue. Bummer

Okay to mix ROWA Phos and carbon together in the same mesh bag?

Roger that, thank so much(y)I'll run it separately. Appreciate it!! Wow, I didn't even think about that, haha. Thank you! Hey, thanks so much for all the info! I appreciate it. I heard the effective life for carbon 3 to 4 days, is that true? Just double checking

Okay to mix ROWA Phos and carbon together in the same mesh bag?

Instead of using separate mesh bags, 1 for carbon and the other for ROWA phos, I was thinking on using 1 bag and mix them. Is that safe? Thanks

    WTB: Ecotech MP10QD

In case you were wondering, this is the modification to Tunze's 6015. There's some sort of diffuser/restrictor inside the case. You can take a bone cutter to cut and then a razor scrap and smooth things out. You get tons of flow for only 4 watts(y)
