    Found this in tank

As others have said, it is a sponge. Since that one is out of water, its hart to tel for sure, but it sure looks a lot like some of them are a pineapple sponge. I have a bunch of these in my overflow and some in the sump... when I turn my return pump off and then back on, a bunch of them come...

    Mushroom ID

Looking at the 4 oclock and 6 ocklock on the coral from the picture you posted, seems to have some skeleton emerging on the edges. If it is infact a skeleton, then it woudnt be a mushroom. Also, looks like multipe small "eyes" based on the pattern. My guess would be some sort of favia or chalice.

Have you done a DIY tutorial, or have a link to one you followed? I was thinking of making my own phyto as well to dose the tank periodically

Help me get rid of stubborn algae

Ah, good to know. Then that does change my thought! Seems like it is mostly the rock then. Bummer.

Help me get rid of stubborn algae

Thank you Drexel... I have also gone back and forth on the idea that the rock is what is fueling the algae, because it is mostly relegated to the rocks. But there is actually quite a lot of it all over the other places too, but not as easy to see on the photos... its on the clam shells, other...

Help me get rid of stubborn algae

Thank you for your feedback. I will look into the process a lot more thoroughly, and pick up some GFO to have on hand. But good to hear about a positive experience. Did you end up having any issues with coral or inverts?

Help me get rid of stubborn algae

The rocks in the display were dry rock... there is also a mix of a few pieces of Marine Pure balls in the sump along with random branching live rock (I would say maybe about 10lbs or so). I also at one point bought a cup of that live rock in a cup to help seed more bacteria.

Help me get rid of stubborn algae

I have a bottle of Flux RX at home as we speak, but havent pulled the trigger for the same worries. the rocks have none of the corals on them because I have pulled and brushed the algae off previously a few times. I was thinking of spraying hydrogen peroxide, but my concern was that if I didnt...

Help me get rid of stubborn algae

Hey all, I hope I can get some pointers on how to get rid of the stubborn algae that has been plaguing one of my tanks for months. This stuff is covering all of my rockwork and I am hesitant about putting in corals onto the main structure because it seems to choke out stuff around it...

    ID please.

As others have mentioned, its snail eggs... I dont mind them, since they will either be food for an inhabitant, or if they survive and hatch, free CUC... only thing to watch out for is if they hatch and they are small, some can get into pumps and other moving parts and crunch up and mess them up...

What do you need to fix/address on your tank?

On my main tank, I am battling GHA which I should clean off the rocks more often, I should also test the water and do more frequent water changes. Also, I probably should put a piece of it under a microscope to confirm that its is in fact GHA and not something else. On my nano, I need to...

Algae Barn - Anyone have recent expereince?

Ive never gotten any clams from algae barn, but I have had a pod subscription for about 2 years and have also gotten a few inverts occasionally (snails, urchins, etc). I have not had any deaths on arrival yet. Once one of the urchins looked stressed when it arrived and I contacted them and they...

    PAR meter question

I have a PARwise myself, and for the price its worth buying. Not only does it give you info on par, but also the spectrum, and its quite nifty. Besides adjusting the intensity, it helps you adjust the spectrum too (if your lights have multiple channels).
