thats actually the range of of my tank as well, 7.8 early morning and 8.05 by night time. and thats with a contant kw drip! is there an electronic alkanity probe/meter available? i also notice my salinity reading goes up along with the pH, daily and then back down again overnight just like pH

What are all the ideal livestock besides copepods? And what's to be avoided? Is a deep sand bed really beneficial? (So far I'd rather go barebottom to avoid the extra layer) How about a hermit crabs or small clams? Especially if there's a sand bed, them and some stirrer snails might help keep...
