Very informative video. I wish it was around when I built my sump. I went with acrylic and made a few mistakes during the build. It wasn't pretty but it didn't leak.

Great video. Does the aquamax GFO and PhosGuard change colors or dissipate when it is no longer effective? Is the only way to tell if it needs to be changed by water testing?

I had a problem with Dinoflagellates a couple of times. The first time I sucked it out during a water change. Second time I turned the lights off on the tank for a few days and it all disappeared.

Learned the hard way about making sure to use pure RO/DI water in my tank when I first started. I thought that since I was cycling it I could get away with RO water and ended up with the red slime everywhere. Rookie mistake

Makes sense. I wasn't taking the lower power output into consideration.

Cool retrofit ideas. Would it be possible to eliminate shadows and dark spots if smaller LED fixtures are used and staggered over the aquarium instead of a larger LED fixture placing all the lights in a row, centered over the tank?

Good question! I didn't think of that possibly occurring in such a small space.

If I put one in the stand would smaller than 20 gallons be OK is 20 gallons the absolute minimum a quarantine tank should be?
