I agree with Aquatic Fantasy. The quality of their fish is outstanding. They are consistently healthy and choice specimens. Also, their selection of coral has really gotten good since they moved into their new location. If you're in Signal Hill, Age of Aquariums is fantastic as well.

+1 for Caribsea Black Hawaiian. I have it in my tank and love the look. Seven Seas in San Pedro has a good stock although that's a little far for you....

Great start....you will have a great tank in no time! consider painting or putting a black background on your tank. It will disguise all the wires and make the focus the tank rather than the wires and white wall behind. I think it'll make a big difference...jmo....

Have you considered a black backing on your aquarium? I think it would be really pleasing to the eye and would cover up the mess of cords behind the tank....
