My refugium has been growing GHA in my tank for 2+ years. It never made it into my DT. I periodically remove 95% of the GHA every month and no problems for me.

Maybe email Maxspect about it or buy it from Europe. If anything, the XF280 can support glass up to 1.25"

Maxspect used to offer a reinforced magnet for their gyre that's good up to 1.25" thickness.
