    Torch growth and fragging

I think it will depend on what you're using to cut the skeleton. If you have access to a fancy bandsaw you can do it closer to the heads with minimal damage to the skeleton. If you are doing it by hand with bone cutters/pliers, you'll definitely want there to be a good amount of grown out...

    John’s double lagoon nano build.

Very cool design! That's giving me ideas as I've also wanted to do a satellite clam tank

Return to reefing; my nano build

So far its a really good little fish. It shows some really nice color changes depending on its mood, but usually reverts to more mellow colors like in the pic. I wish it would keep some of the bar patterns he gets at night. I do like that it spends all day grazing on the rocks, though he also...

Return to reefing; my nano build

Thanks for the compliments! The AIO conversion definitely turned out nice and relieves my worries about leaks (I travel for work often). The tank dimensions are roughly 24"L x 14w x 22H, or something there abouts. The perspective on that picture was a little off, and the rear chambers are...

Return to reefing; my nano build

Thanks! Im running the current Orbit leds. It's pretty nice for the $ but I'll likely upgrade to something else when I come across a good deal. Nothing wrong with them, I just know I'll eventually want some sps

Picked up some zoas to get some color in there. One of them also had a nice feather duster. And even found a nice rbta. Of course it's since gone for a walk, to a much less aestheticallypleasing place. Oh well

That was a several weeks ago. As you can see there are also some critters in there now: clean up crew of a few snails and hermits, a skunk cleaner, and a Tail spot blenny. Just yesterday the purple firefish was added per my ladies request.

Got some new rock for a great price. And it has some shapes and textures I like. Its not quite the pretty island it was before, but there are many more hiding places and coral mount positions now.

the tank chambers: Then I picked up a bag of caribsea aragonite, and some LR. It was a combo of Real Reef rock and dry rock. It looked really nice, but I was going to need to pick up some more. I wanted a little variety so the rest would be coming from a different supplier.

Return to reefing; my nano build

Hi everyone! So I have been out of the hobby since my tank crash back in 08'. I'll leave that story for another day, but with college, then moving several times and life ETC, I just haven't had the time or $$$ for another tank. I never completely dropped the habit though, as I would still drop...

    Finally back in the game!

Nothing too fancy in the plans (famous last words...) For now it's going to be a mixed reef with a couple small fish. So far it's got a few hermits and snails, a cleaner shrimp and last weekend I got a tail spot blenny. I had never seen one before, and i think he'll be perfect for the job. I...
