I'm also setting up a new tank. Going to a jbj 45 rimless aio. the sand and rock are currently cycling, but I figure I'd ask now about sand before I move everything from my other tank over.

So I think black sand is sexy as hell in a reef tank. Just wanted to know if there are any drawbacks of having black sand over regular sand?
