Just wonder how old clownish can live to be in captivity? Ive read some numbers online but they seem to have a wide range so I wanted to know about some personal experiences. Mine have been with me for 4+ years now.

I had a pair of orange skunk clowns for a few years in the 90's that I gave to a professional breeder because they were too aggressive in my main display tank. After several more years, he passed them on to another breeder where they still are today. During this time I'm not sure they ever skipped spawning like clockwork. Last I checked they had been in captivity 25 years.

FWIW... when I lived in Chicago and volunteered at the Shedd Aquarium, we had a tarpon in our central display that we had had for 60+ years. 1935 the Shedd sent a train down from Chicago to collect specimens and bring back saltwater. Then the Labor Day hurricane of 1935 struck and wiped out the railroad. While they were waiting for the railroad to be repaired, they went out in the devastation to see if there was anything worth collecting. They found the tarpon in a puddle of water - quite a distance from the ocean. If that tarpon is still alive it is more than 83 years old. You will know it is the correct fish if it is blind in one eye (from damage caused by the hurricane).

The oldest known fish (at least so far) is a koi that lived to the ripe old age of 226.

Had mine for 16 years till we went on vacation and the power went out, when we had a summer at 116 on a weekend. water temp was 98 and not sure for how long. All my clowns 6 of them died. we got when the kids were born. We had a pair of Perculas, Oscellaris both with wide bars and a regular pair of Oscellaris. All my other fish die, except for a pair of blue damsels that were there just waiting to greet us when we came back.

One of my clowns is the first saltwater fish I purchased over 24 years ago. His original mate was killed by another clown when its mate jumped 4” up over a light and out of the tank. I have had its new mate 20 years or so. I also have a sailfin tang that is over 20 years old.
