Just got back from diving in La Paz. Amazing reefs full of pocilopora and sea lions. Saw a few morbula Ray's, but highlight was swimming with the whale sharks. Amazing experience.
Pretty easy and inexpensive flights out of Tijuana international airport via CBX bridge in San Diego.
Flew Volaris direct to La Paz about 2 hours.

Photos? I have always wondered... I thought it was too cold in Baja for anything but non-photosynthetic corals (and very few of those).

It has the reputation as being where you go for pelagics (and sounds like you saw a lot of those) but corals and/or inverts not so much.

You are right, limited coral, but what was there looked pretty healthy. Lots of fish even saw pairs of moorish idols that I thought were only in south pacific. Water was not cold about 82 degrees on surface and 79 degrees at 60 to 70 feet. Visibility was about 50 to 75 feet. Wreck dive was pretty cool and penetrable.
