Anyone reinforce a large eurobrace tank before? It's a 300gal glass tank and I don't trust silicon holding it together... especially since I have two toddlers in the house.

I was thinking of a metal frame around the top with cross brace in the top.. would this be enough? 1 in metal frame?

I was told the center brace failed at one point and the person added a 2nd brace. But I'm not sure if I trust it alone.

So the seller told you that it failed once and you bought it? It must of been one heck of deal to pass up.
We can all give you our thoughts, suggestions, and opinions. But I would hate to be the guy(s) that gave you some reassurances that it won't fail and something did happen. It's a tough one man. You are going to have to make that decision.
There's are things that you can replace and then there are things that is not replaceable.

Is the tank full?

You can double eurobrace it, offsetting the seams. You can eurobrace the bottom or just install starboard That would significantly increas the strength.

I was told by someone else after I brought it home. Looked good when I inspected it but I just wanted to make it safer. I know the danger of large tanks... I'm looking for ideas or real experience that others have had.

Tank is empty. Good idea with bracing the bottom!
