Alkatronic controlling it or running it alongside? Cost effective I would go aquamaxx, otherwise I would go vertex, if $ is not issue, datstaco.

I've got the Aquamaxx T3i with a PH Probe, Custom Dual Stage Regulator, 20 lb tank, and lots of Reborn and Remag and now the Kamoer Peristaltic Pump to control the water through the reactor. Some tubing, silicone and rodi. I lost count on how much. Maybe $1,500 total.

The Vertex are also nice, or a smaller Geo. I think in the end they are just holding chambers for media, the more important part is getting a quality regulator. Some people don't like thumb screws, so there are reactors that have threaded lids you can unscrew rather than unscrew multiple thumb screws. I saw an automatic calcium reactor from Aquarium Engineering but they are really expensive.

Aquarium engeneering is also a very solid CA reactor, but very expensive. I recommend the Vertex, because it comes with the 2nd chamber stock. I prefer thumb screw over a screw compression lid because after time seals warp and... and you don't get a waterproof seal and have a huge headache/leak. That happened to me with my deltech, which I just solved by covering it in glue (not the best solution). Steve G made his own and put an easy open top like the geo kalk reactors use.

I don’t think DC is necessary. As far as I know there would be no need to adjust a recirc pump. For a smaller calrx for your sized tank I don’t think it would be very loud. Mine has a little hum but nothing crazy.

Reef Octopus makes some pretty good products as well.
