Current 32g Coralife biocube. In the process of upgrading to a 48Lx22Wx20T; is this 90g or 120g?
Currently have a blotched Anthias in 1 QT and a second QT set up with 2 purple fire fish, engineer blenny, and a baby Lionfish.
Always dabbled with Fresh water and aquatic turtles. Impulse purchased the 32g in May and now I'm upgrading.
3months
Looking for assistance with lights, fish recommendations, and any general guidance!
My biggest issue is impulse purchases... So I'm not sure what to do with the baby Lionfish. LOL. Do I need to get another blotched Anthias or is one alone fine? Primarily enjoy the LPS and softies. Torches, hammers, zoas, and mushrooms.

Welcome! I’m not sure that lion fish should go in the 32. I have a sps dominant 29 BioCube. I wouldn’t add too many more fish then you have sadly. And that’s with removing the lion fish. The nutrients can get out of hand very fast in these tanks.

Welcome, those are some pricey snacks you bight the lion fish lol. I would focus on getting it out. For your anthia you can keep just one but you wouldn't want 2. Anything more then one should be 3,5, or 7. Hay m happy reefing

Thank you for the reply! Yah I have no intention on putting any of the fish into the 32g Biocube. I was told you can hand feed the lion fish and as long as the fish is well fed, I shouldn’t have any issues.
The lion fish I have right now could not be any bigger than half dollar coin. It’s a tiny fish.

I’m actively putting together the 90 gallon now. Just working on the aquascaping. Figured if I purchased my livestock now I’ll have them quarantined for a month or 2, by the time they are added to the DT.

Probably best. I only have three small fish in my tank and I fear anymore will upset the balance my tank has going. Check out BlueRiverReefs on YouTube and Instagram for a better follow of my BioCube. Putting up a new YouTube vid soon as an update to my video on BRStv reacts. Cheers!

I thing the fish population is going t even itself out. A lion will do just fine in a BC32... the other fish ... not so much.

When I spend that much money on someone’s meal, I expect to get laid.

go back to whomever sold you that combination of fish and ask for a kiss because I like to get kissed when I get screwed.

Joking aside, lions are awesome looking fish but whomever sold you that combo of fish did you a disservice. in a few years, hopefully My SPS will grow out enough that I can put one in without it decimating them.

So here’s the 90g I’m setting up. My question is do I need to secure the hoses? I feel not securing them is problematic.

LOL the lion fish is tiny. I’ll attach a picture now. I figured if I fed and kept well fed lion fish will have no reason to devour tank mates. But he is only eating live at this time so I may need to rehome

I would not add the lion fish or the engineer goby to your 90 gallon. Both will be problematic in the future. Keep the lion in your 32 gallon. The engineer goby gets very large and digs in the sand bed big time.
