Was told to check this forum out by a friend of mine

Got my first nano reef tank yesterday, coming from a high tech planted aquarium
I got a semi-mature setup for a steal
New to the salty side but I've done quite a bit of research and think I have decent setup, the tank did come with some corals already such as RBTA, gonopora, pulsing xenia, kenya tree, and GSP

if you guys have any tips for me that would be great!

looking to get some easy corals, like zoa, duncans, torch, bubble coral, euphyllia, candy cane

Nice tank.
Be warned the pulsing xenia, kenya tree, and GSP will spread fast. Zoas are easy. Check out the for sale forum on here for some cool pieces.
Happy Reefing

Welcome.

Keep an eye on the tank parameters. Even if the tank had been established in the past, anytime you do some significant changes to the tank (which includes moving the entire system to a new house) it may go through some swings.

You'll love the saltwater reef hobby.

My tank has crashed and is beginning to cycle again, at this point I’m still loving the hobby. I’m deciding to upgrade and probably get rid of everything in here. I’ve seen different ways of setting up a new tank.

For example you tuber reef builders does everything in a day, not saying I will but he explains that as long you feed minimal it should be fine. Btw he added rocks sand corals fish etc all at once into a 20g.

Other is the normal cycling period and waiting for the tank to mature such as coraline algae to set in before adding corals.

Just wanted to know your guys thought on these two methods

It’s fine, going through the diatom phase right now. But I guess I’d rather just upgrade now before i get too far in since most people say tanks take a year to fully establish
