I have 2 of these. $200 each. Retail for $400 plus. They are in great shape. No cracks in the leather. Practically brand new. *There are one or two scratches on the wood which could be easily fixed, but I would say they are a 8 or 9 out of 10 condition. These are extremely comfortable chairs with very solid construction.

We have had our La-Z-Boy glider for 16 years, still going strong and it's it the preferred seat in the house.

The answer is it depends on the quality of the leather and if you condition it regularly Every year or two is enough. $400 for leather is pretty inexpensive, you can easily spend 5X that on a quality recliner.
