so ive decided to set up another frag tank but i want to tear it down and reseal it so i know that it will last longer than just filling it back up.
i was going to have a shop do it but they want way more than i want to spend to reseal and add an overflow box

can everyone give me pointers on the Dos / Donts of resealing a glass tank.

tank is 48 x 36 x 16

thanks for the help

I would compare the time cost to do the work vs the actual cost of the tank when bought either new or used. Also, you must add the depreciation cost of the work tank once you start to work on it, etc.

Are you planning on tearing the tank completely apart or just resealing the inner seam?
How bad is the seam on the tank?
Any big bubbles on the seam?

I’m currently in the process of rebuilding a lee-mar 187g. It is a lot of work, but I’m completely tearing down the tank and rebuilding it. But it will definitely beat the cost of a new tank.

If your not in a bug rush to have the tank fixed I could possibly rebuild your once I’m done and successfully rebuilding the 187. I wouldn’t be able to get to it for at least a month or two

Sad part after realizing I was going to rebuild that lee-mar I was kinda glad I was the one to buy it.

No one and I mean no one is crazy enough to do some stupid shhh like this then me, and what if some noob bought it set it up and had it running for a few months b4 a seam spilt.

I’m just truly hoping I can bring need life to that tank.

And actually I feel pretty dam confident I can.
