So I have a curve 7 protein skimmer and as soon as I plug it in the bubbles rise and over flow the entire cup and it’s not like it’s in to deep of water it’s only sitting in about 7 inches of water and the flow is on max. I have had 2 skimmers do this to me now and have no clue how to fix it hoping someone has had this before

I had a curve 5 having the same issue when brand new. I had to raise the water level in my sum higher to avoid over flow. But now it dialed in it does not happen anymore

make sure the output valves is fully open. then take the cup off and let it run for a couple days and see if it settles down. if you recently used any reef epoxy like aqua stik it will make it overflow too. Running fresh carbon and water changes can help.

There are several additives that will cause any skimmer to do this, fluconazole for one.

Did you have a working skimmer before? Or is this your first skimmer?

So I had a skimmer before and it never happened but I set up a brand new tank and got a new skimmer and literally as soon as it gets plugged in it overflows
