So got the fuge light and I’m short by about 3 inches to get it to line up directly over the fuge. The arm is fully extended. Not sure what to do as I don’t want to put anymore holes than the 4 (sealed with silicon) I added for the clips to hold the return plumbing and wire runs.

Yep that’s rock and I’m messing with the lights (again).

Order some Marco’s cement from BRS so I’ll be putting together some structures shortly and maybe she’ll be wet by thanksgiving.

Looking clean, those doors are awesome.
Thanks Matt. Yeah I was really torn about going glass doors at first as my office doubles as a guest room and I was concerned about light spill when the fuge light is on. Turns out it adds a bit ambiance…lol…I’ll kill the light when guest are over.

Forgot to add this top down shot of the scape. I plan on adding some little rubble islands to provide hiding place for shrimp and smaller fish.

Got a leak on the modular marine external overflow

Any idea on how to get some good torque on the bulkhead? Can’t get a tool in there as the space is way to tight. It’s the only place that I have a leak thus far some I’m pretty happy about that.

Just found a post stating I may have the gasket installed wrong. Should he gasket on the inside of tank between tank and weir around the bulkhead and then the 2nd gasket between tank and the external overflow not in the overflow on the nut side of the bulkhead. I’ll try this tomorrow or Friday and see what happens. Guess she won’t be wet for thanksgiving after all

That was my gripe with my MM. the slightest torque of your drain pipes can start a leak.

I used really large channel locks but actually the guy I sold the tank to discovered the RODI canister wrench fit those perfectly

If you have unions on you’re drains undo everything before your torque them down again. Make sure it all lines up tits. Those gaskets aren’t that thick but sounds like the box will move a bit.
If I ever do one again it will have some type of flexible silicone tubing right off the bat to relieve and pressure or twisting off that overflow.

will do. I’ll also be adding brackets attached to the stand to support the plumbing and overflow.

Gaskets go where the water is. They expand amd tighten when they come into contact with water
Except for where the water is in the external overflow also has the nut that when tightened seems to alter the seal. Fortunately I found a few post and then some instructions on where to place the gasket for the modular marine overflow I have. Just glad the leak stopped although I still have water in it and will eat it remain until tomorrow just to be sure.

So yeah that’s me, and yes that’s a look for frustration/dejection. Today was the day to get her wet.

The plan was to access the crawl space above the tank so that I could run my water line up into the crawl space from the closet area that the RODI is mounted in. Was going to run a line out through this vent so that I can add an outdoor mixing station under that window in the other image. This area butts up to where the tank is. Well when I got into the crawl space there’s a truss running across and the space is just a bit to narrow for my liking for me to fit to get to the other side. I need to go about 15 feet to get to where the vent is. Back to the drawing board.
