I see…, then the owner David must have black-listed me for some reason. TBH, he does have an attitude when it comes to ppl, or maybe just me, asking about price. I don’t see what the big deal is since all other LFS go in so cal have no probl with it. It’s what it is. I just won’t go there anymore. Lol

That’s for sure. All he needs to do is to label the tanks, but he doesn’t do that & I’ve heard others complaining about the same thing. He appears to go off of memory so the pricing changes as well. And have an attitude about ppl asking …, that’s just uncalled for. They may have good selection but tbh, its comparable to Tongs & certainly not as good as Harry’s. So I don’t find shopping at his store better than other LFS. Tongs carries way more dry goods as well.

Got it, their tangs are normally $100 or over (the ones that catch my eye).

I've never stopped by Tongs will have to stop by my next dry good purchase and check them out.

I've been going to Seaside for the past 10 years. At least one of the Hispanic worker has been working there for at least that long as well. Recognizes me every time I visit even though I'm from the Inland Empire. I've been through my share of LFS and Seaside has probably the healthiest fish. Most fish I buy there survive. Yes they run a large UV and I know they change their bulbs because each bulb is labeled with the install date. Somehow my luck with Tongs a few miles down the road is not the same with fish bought there. Not sure why. A customer at Seaside wanted to buy a Copperband butterfly and wanted to see which one was eating out of the 5. Don't ask the owner Dave to feed them because he doesn't have the time but the Hispanic worker will happily feed each Copperband and let you choose from the ones that are eating.
Sign up for their mailing list and you get a list of fish/invert specials of the week. Wish I was closer to Seaside but maybe not or I will be broke.

Seaside has always been great to me, it’s my go to place now for fish. Very healthy fish and especially tangs in comparison to other fish stores, and the prices seem pretty reasonable to me. Coral selection is pretty good as well. Employees are always great and willing to feed the fish if asked. Definitely recommend (y)

Been going to Seaside for years now and they've always been great.
I find their fish tend to do better compared to Tong's.

Santiago is the man for sure. He will help you with anything no matter how much you ask questions or ask about prices. great guy. some of the higher end zoas that David sells are actually from Santiago's tanks (y)(y)

Overall a solid store. They usually have a great selection for their cheap coral bins. It's hard for me to walk out without doing their 3 for 30 deal whenever I'm in. Their higher end stuff that isn't labeled is usually too pricey imo. Their dry goods are a little pricier than tong's, but i like their selection better

Seaside is the best place for fish in OC, imo. Huge selection and most everything is happy and eating frozen or pellets. As others have said, Santiago is the man and is very helpful.
