I agree R2R feels a little dead there at least the market place I also hate how they made post expire I used to be able to find old post and ask if they still had some frags for sale but that’s gone. They also charge for more sale post maybe that’s why it’s slow

Omg I just had a discussion with some kid on Facebook the other day because he used bayer insecticide in tank as a whole tank pest treatment

He then tried convince me that a whole tank treatment with bayer wasn’t as bad as I make it sound. I’m like bro bayer in known to cause cancer in human and would really mess you up or kill you if you interested it. Now his fish and corals are now living in those chemicals. What do you think is happening to them? He did mention that the treatment killed all his shrimp and cleanup crew.

Yea dip cause there way more sensitive. But long term his fish and corals would get stressed and pass
That's just f'ing crazy! Well, this is the result of the insta-reefer, right? These are the people who only get their info from the web and wonder why things go south. I still reference books that I bought in the 80's and 90's. A lot of the info is still overlooked today.
Funny story, I was chatting with this girl on FB who wanted to buy some frags for her boyfriend as a birthday gift, but she didn't really know much about sps, so I was helping her out with a few starter pieces. I stepped away from the char for 5 or 10 minutes to put my son down to sleep and I come back to my phone with it being blown up by this girl who was flaming me, calling me names and calling me a scammer, etc. Apparently because I didn't respond within a certain amount of time, it flipped a switch and she went crazy. I responded back by telling her I had put my son down for the night and I never heard from her again. I even told her that I wasn't offended by what she said (because I could give a f___! ) and I was willing to help her out. I guess she was too embarrassed to respond? And I was the one helping her out with info and a good deal on a handful of nice frags.
I think the bigger issue with a lot of forums is the lack of people being able to have an adult conversation about something, without it turning into some stupid opinion argument. It's like everyone forgot how to have a conversation and exchange ideas, even if you don't agree with them, you could actually learn something in the process. I think people forgot how to listen, sometimes you learn more by keeping your mouth shut. Alright, back to work. Eric, I need some berghias!

That's gnarly. I love dipping with bayers but I trip out on handling the stuff during that time. I mean hell, you can't even buy the shit in the UK.

Fingers crossed he doesn't suck start his siphons lol

Bro i had a lady hit me on Facebook to buy corals. We were in the deal by 30 messages and I’d say 10 pieces when she said how do I know these will live in my tank. I’m thinking omg I’m going to have to explain water parameters to this girl. I asked if the alkalinity was stable in the tank? She fallows up with “idk”. I asked “do have test kits?” She says “some pH, ammonia, Nitrate, and nitrite.” I then ask “do you know your salinity?” I get “what that?” I then ask “do you have a freshwater or saltwater tank?” “I don’t have saltwater, it’s to hard” she says.
I dam near slapped my self in the head, Seriously!
But do to the fact I had to label the the add as “Coral as decoration” she thought it could go in to fresh water.

i missed the heyday of RC, but i kinda hope they upgrade their crappy software and try to compete against r2r as far as the big forums go

i've stumbled upon some awesome old threads on RC, although i'm not sure i could replicate it as the search function sucks. just tons of info

the copps build thread is like an all time thread, unfortunately most of the pics suck because it's all photobucket

Bayer is the only thing I found that kills red bugs. I don’t even know if interceptor is a thing these days
I still have Bayer on hand, but also have some Interceptor too. Interceptor is the only thing you can use as an in tank treatment. I heard Dr. G's is good, but never tried it. There are 3 known species of bugs now, so the list keeps growing.
