I hate wasting my RODI water and had an idea. I have easy access to my sprinkler system plumbing where I can put a bucket with a sump pump and plug right into my sprinkler system. Is this a genius idea or am an idiot? Would add a check valve on sump end to ensure water does not back flow when sprinklers turn on.

Has anyone ever done this or does anyone have any input on this?

i fill a 55 gal with the waste water to water the flowers / garden.
bulkhead to drip line but it did get clogged easily since low pressure. i just go old school and use a water jug LOL
i even use it to do laundry
been doing this for years since i go through so 40 gals of rodi a week

I’ve been struggling with the same dilemma about wasting the water since it can still be used for other things.

I am not sure how/if it can feed the irrigation system but I plan on plumbing the waste water to a container on a raised stand. I want to tap the container with a valve where I can gravity feed it to top off the pool or water plants.

I bought an used rainwater basin, and I plan to collect the drain line of the RO unit. This will be used to water the flowers and plants for my wife.
