Anyone else out there not running a slimmer on your tank? I have taken my skimmer off line for about a year now and having great success with all my corals. I’ve been doing about a gallon water change weekly on my 120. I also have a 25 gal that am doing the same method and seems like the corals likes it better without a skimmer…

I have a Red Sea 300 that will not stop overflowing. I shut it off. I don’t see much difference. Gonna try without it for a while.

I had ran my system without a skimmer for over a year with success. I just have to keep an eye on how much I feed the fishes and corals.

I Run 4 hours in the morning, P04 and N03 are .05 and 3-5. If I run longer, N03 drops to 0 quickly

A long time ago I had a 40 gallon cube that I ran without a skimmer. It had an old Euroreef RS-80 but the Sedra pump was so loud I ended up taking it off line. The tank was OK but I ended up doing more water changes. I eventually swapped it with something with a Sicce pump.

Has anyone not running skimmer tried putting an air stone in Sump so as to provide more oxygen to tank without having ugly bubbles in DT?

Its your light cycle more corals you peak ph but with people in house carbonic acid drops fast. Skimmer helps a little.
