Please help. The tips of my torch are falling off. Everyone else seems to be doing okay. Little bit of red hair algae in the tank. Is the flow to strong right here? It’s a hagger wave maker and isn’t too strong

The very tips are falling off? I've never seen that before. I agree with josererrano. The tissue goes pretty far down which seems to be healthy in that aspect.

From your pictures, only thing I can speculate is that it's on the ground where its closer to the gravel where there is more waste/bacteria. Also its in the bottom corner where flow is the least in most cases. So combination of low flow higher waste can cause a bacteria infection. Some torches, notably ones from Aussie are susceptible to bacteria infections.

Just food for thought: could it be a fish nipping the torch? I’ve never seen the tips fall off. Usually if they are unhappy they retract and the tissue at the base starts to recede. But tips falling off sounds odd to me. Could anything else in your tank be picking at it?
