So this is kinda interesting, I don’t know if I mentioned this but I got a baby lawnmower blenny some months back, after a few weeks I found him stuck to a 6105 with his eyeballs sucked out, I freed him and saw him for a few days and then no more. I just figured that nature had taken it’s course.

This evening, I was harvesting some chaeto and lo and behold, there he was, happy as a clamb in the fudge, blind as a bat but can always find a bite. Happy day!

I don’t know who did it but I don‘t see any more aptasia. Was it the filefish I hav‘ t seen even look at an aptasia or the peppermint shrimp I haven‘t even seen in 5 months? Saw the peppermint shrimp twice in as many days with a flashlight though. When I put him in, he was small AF but now he is Youge! I’m guessing it was the peppermint shrimp, either way, crisis averted.

latest problem is miniature bubble algae growing in mats, thick as a brick mats. I’ve been injecting the larger chunks with H2O2 and manually removing, got all I could get that way. Now I’m running vibrant which works surprisingly well. Beginning of the year I plan on running razor to get the last of it and then I start installing frags of ultra high end coral. The coral I have are mostly thriving ATM.

I’m off work these next few weeks so just let me know. My tank looks like crap right now and it’s over ran by aptasia. I have 2 file fish going to work on them but they are barely making a dent.

The birds are fine. Breeding season is coming up so I have to get the little ones ready for that.

I’ll be in your area this evening if that works for you either way, let me know.

I’m making tamales tonight….. well, I’m mailing the fillings, tomorrow is a full day of rolling and steaming. I’ll be around!

if you‘re overrun with aptasia, it might be time for Berghia nudibanchs

I’m having some trouble with my calcium reactor. I think there is a leak in the Co2 delivery system, which is just a carbondoser, some PE tube and a check valve.

I really have to pump a lot of Co2 to get the pH to drop and once I shut off the carbon doser, The water in the bubble counter pushes back up into the supply tube.

I just replaced my check valve, does PE tube become Co2 permeable over time?

Might want to put the tubing into a bowl of water (while connected to CO2 tank) and check for bubbles. I think CO2 tubing is usually PE, so you should be good. Or you just replace the tubing since it’s a cheap maintenance.
