How do you backup your reef to protect from power outages?

This is particularly specific I know, however I live in a building that has 3-5 power outages a year. I’m 2 months into reefing and haven’t had an outage yet. They’re very rarely more than 4 hours but I’ve invested enough that at this point if there’s a reasonable way to protect myself I’d be happy to pay for it. I see lots of backups for pumps to keep flow going, but I’d really like to have something that allowed my entire system to keep running. Does this exist?

a gas generator but don't think that would work for you. I think battery backup for the pumps should be fine. I use an air pump connected to my cellphone backup battery haha.

Depending on how many watts your return pump is you could get by on a 1500va UPS battery backup. I had one on my nano, that pumps pulled like 30 watts or less and the UPS would keep it going over 8 hours. I did not plug in anything else. You could argue that you'd want your skimmer for aeration or a circulation pump. If that's the case I would run a 2nd UPS to power those.

We had electrical pole replaced in our neighborhood last couple weeks and we lost power from 9AM until 2AM next day. All I used was the battery air pump using for live bait from the fishing.

All fish and corals are doing great
