Hey Bryan, So just trying to clarify for others.
Did you get a separate PM that had a similar looking name to the seller that asked you to contact them via email?
Also I’d just like to point out that this is a great reason to restrict privileges for new members or members that haven’t meet criteria’s. Maybe a 30day, 30 min post before PM privileges, just saying most scammer aren’t going to meet those criteria’s. But hey I’ve been beating that dead horse for years and have got no where.

Yes I pm'd told them I wanted the fish and left my phone number I was contacted and texted and they asked for a deposit to hold via PayPal and asked to send it as friends and family which I've done that before in the past was no issues. Sometimes it's something is too good of a deal it really is I asked plenty of questions about the fish they seem knowledgeable in our hobby. Location was yucaipa asked me when I wanted to pick up the fish I said Saturday at 10:00 a.m. they said perfect they asked me to text them once I made payment on PayPal then they replied with I received payment see you on Saturday. Then I started reading all the other post on the thread and tried to contact them and all I got was a hi... Contacted PayPal to dispute but there is no dispute when you send it friends and family. I'm usually pretty smart about getting scammed on the internet but I really didn't think we had to worry about people in our reefing community. I've probably done this 20 times before in the past and even with new members so I really wasn't thinking I was taking a risk
So you ONLY messaged the person selling the items on their original username correct? You never got a message from another username that looked similar?
The other seller "km" showed a screenshot only showing you had asked his location and he replied with his zip and that was the end of the convo. Do you have more showing the messages you sent phone number etc?
