Looking good, that uv seems to really pop in low nutrients.

Those tomini tangs are awesome, hopefully he puts in the work and helps you with the remaining algae. It does seem never ending, it's popping up in my new system too. Normally not a stylo fan but that one is pretty badass looking. Where did you see it?

Thanks! Yeah it’s doing well, the tips are getting a rich metallic purple/blue I’m diggin it.

He honestly doesn’t seem to do much but I’m sure he’s hot hurting anything. I’d really like to find a piece of it somewhere, it’s so vibrant. It’s actually at the aquarium of the pacific so I’d imagine it’s under some halide / cannon led combo.

I don’t think I’ll ever chop it up. If I do part ways with it it’ll be whole. I’ll hit you up first but only if you post a build thread :ROFLMAO:

Dang over a year since an update, that's pretty sad and lame LMAO. Pretty much a steady decline on the tank the last 4 months which lead me to downsize last week. Been so busy with work, the holidays, lift in general, just had not been keeping up on even the most basic maintenance stuff IE sock changes, emptying skimmer, cleaning glass.

Between being busy and a rough stint with losing multiple fish safe to say the wind had been taken out of my sail. Girlfriend and I wanted to change some furniture around and that meant tank needed to go or be moved so I opted to just set-up a smaller AIO for what coral I had left.

Going back to the hands off approach on this keep it basic with mushrooms, a couple torches, and maybe a couple other pieces that catch my eye. A lot of these shrooms were either in the sump frag section or just behind stuff so it has been like having brand new corals to some extent.

Equipment
Nuvo 15
Sicce 1.0 return
Inkbird + BRS heater from old system
1 x Kessil A360x
1 x Nero 3
Desktop skimmer

Look forward to just keeping mostly hands off and letting this one develop.

Unfortunately my CHSB managed to get the chop even with the nem guard on the Nero 5. This is what is left hopefully I can nurture it back to health.

Sorry to hear about the problems, but I’m glad you’re still going. I think fish are the toughest part of this hobby. If you need anything, don’t be afraid to reach out, I’ll help as much as I can.

I’m really enjoying the nano and things have settled in well. Nem is making a full recovery from a run in with a powerhead and all the shrooms have really started to look great. Except my OG which has significantly reduced in size and looks bleached. I think it’s on a comeback but need to find a better spot for it.

Added a couple damsel fish as I have never kept them before and I’m stoked on them. Super entertaining to watch and I think I lucked out with a pair.

Alk has been steady around 8 dkh and I’m back to dosing AFR. Just been hitting it with 1.5 ml by hand once a week I only drop .2-.3 dkh a week. Working on getting nitrates down there up around 40 but I’m not in a huge rush. Doing 1-2 gallon water changes weekly and chipping away at it.

I think I’d like to add a birds nest or something similar down the road. I like the idea of damsels calling a big colony home.

Agree, looking good. If you want to use a doser with room to grow later on, I would suggest the AquaVitro Sentia doser. The app is easy to use and you can add secondary dosers later on if you decide to expand. I'm using them for both of my systems and I really them so far. They do have 6500mL reservoir limit at the moment, but I'm hoping with a enough people requesting an increase, they'll include an update in one of their firmware updates in the future? The primary doser is roughly $160 and the secondary dosers are half that and don't require a power supply.

Appreciate it John. I am trying to put the days of buying equipment just to try behind me LOL but I've seen you tout this doser's capabilities a few times and might have to give one a shot. I have Kamoer on stand by and 4 channel GHL still laying around from the last build. Like the idea of the GHL so its all visible on one app but the 4 channel is just overkill.

Looks like you're covered for a doser. I wasn't sure what you had at your disposal. I love GHL equipment, but the software isn't the best, but it gets the job done. I just wished they put the same energy in developing an app as they did with the equipment side of things. Btw, I'm sure I mentioned it in person, but I've been an avid nano keeper for most of my saltwater keeping days and I think they offer a pretty cool perspective with regards to keeping reefs. The details that you can see in a nano that you can't in larger tanks is pretty awesome. I'm sure your nano is going to take off nicely.

Yeah I agree the app sucks! So slow and I was never able to get the automated texts going which, I’still like to.

Agree I find myself looking at this tank way more than then my old one. Just more manageable for the time being.

No name bounce I picked up. Really digging it, complements the sunkist well.

I think this is going to look great with few more heads. Hard to pick up on camera but it has a rainbow streaks through it, found it hiding in the bargain section at Ellis Aquatics.

Looking good! Nice score on that rainbow acan. I see EA post nice stuff but haven't made the drive in a long time. It was out of the garage last time I was there.
