Looking for a few plates and / or trachys for an open area on my sandbed. Not specifically looking for anything rare or special, just looking to add some texture and color.

Anyone have some they're looking to sell? Or have you seen any LFS in North OC with a good selection?

what are plate corals going for these days? Like the common orange one and the more exotic multi color ones?

I personally love plates, but I think they are not that popular because the difficulty and time needed to frag it....not commercially viable to propagate compared to zoas or sps which is easy to frag.

I bought 3 “basic” fungia, army green, green with blue stripes and a neon orange helmet type for 40.00 each.

I have a couple that I got from Ali and Amazing, purple with green tentacles for 25 (I think?) but small, about the size of a nickel. I also got a Diaseris from him for 60 and I’ve seen very similar looking ones called “Jokers Demise”.

I agree that they are less populate due to time/energy needed to propagate.

I’ve seen some in the 200-300 range that are just not worth it to me but might be for others.

Okay, I saw some really cool ones with a different color rim like orange with green rim. Or purple with orange rim plates. I also saw a red looking plate that was very nice. But they wanted $120 for it. But I wasn’t sure what was the going rate anymore, so I passed. They called it “rainbow”.

We got one of the purple ones from Ali too. It was still attached to the stem, and he said once it falls off, leave the stem in the tank. There is a good chance a new plate will grow. About a week and a half after the plate came off, we saw new tentacles peeking out of the stem, and a new one is growing. It’s pretty cool to see
